Fresno’s own “gluten-free chef” is opening a dedicated gluten-free bakery, aiming to cater to the entire community, but more specifically, as a safe place for individuals with gluten sensitivities or celiac disease to be able to enjoy his time-tested culinary creations.
Varouj Kachichian founded his culinary ideology of food as “medicine,” offering gluten free, sugar free and soy free alternative creations, high in fiber, promoting a healthy lifestyle without sacrificing flavor.
The Indulge Right bakery will celebrate its soft opening Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. Located at 5096 N. West Ave. in Fresno, Indulge Right’s regular operating hours will be 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday through Friday.
Kachichian said since opening his gluten-free product business Indulge Right, the gluten-sensitive community has begged for a bakery featuring Indulge Right products.
After hearing four people request a bakery in one day in September, Kachichian decided it was time.
“A lot of people have been asking for it since I moved to Fresno,” he said. “I did not want to do it because, quite frankly, it’s a lot of work — not to mention expenses — but at the end of the day, we don’t have anything like it in Fresno.”
Kachichian plans to have a grand opening for the bakery at some point in the future, but after a short turnaround and renovation process, Indulge Right Bakery will offer sweet deals heading into the holiday season.
