Construction is scheduled to begin in January on Catalina, a new 51-home residential development planned for northwest Visalia.

San Joaquin Valley Homes and Presidio Residential Capital announced that they’ve closed on the purchase of a 8.75-acre parcel off Ferguson Avenue, west of Highway 63 where the single-family homes will be built.

“Because we’re based in Visalia, we know how great it is to live here,” Joe Leal, co-founder of SJV Homes, said in a press release. “Homes in this area are moving quickly, and prices are rising. We’re pleased to be able to offer quality houses in a great location with Catalina.”

The homes will be built on 5,000-square-foot lots close to shopping, public transportation, major employers and Highway 99, states a press release from the developers.

A grand opening to view model homes is expected to occur in spring of next year, while construction on all the homes is expected to be finished by July 2019.
