TETER, Inc. has maintained its position as the Central Valley’s largest architectural firm for at least four consecutive years, growing from 29 licensed architects in 2023 to 31 in 2026 while continuing to serve major institutional clients including Kaiser, PG&E and multiple school districts across the region.

That’s according to the annual list of architects published by The Business Journal on April 10.

Paul Halajian Architects has been among the list’s most consistent climbers, growing from seven to eight licensed architects since 2023 and moving up to the No. 2 position in 2026. The firm, which specializes in historic preservation and sustainable design, counts Fresno State, the Fresno Chaffee Zoo and UC Merced among its clients.

Integrated Designs by SOMAM, founded in Fresno in 1956, remains the longest-tenured firm on the list and has held steady at six licensed architects across all four years surveyed — a mark of stability in a sector that has seen other firms come and go.

Overall the list reflects a market where institutional work — school districts, county agencies, healthcare — continues to drive demand for Valley-based firms, with education clients appearing on nearly every firm’s notable projects roster.
