Fine dining in the Central San Joaquin Valley comes at a wide range of price points, with the average entree at the top of The Business Journal’s latest ranking approaching $100.
Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Fresno ranks No. 1 on the 2026 Fine Dining Establishments list with an average entree price of $94. The restaurant, founded in 1965 and debuting at River Park in 2008, lists entree prices ranging from $47 to $141.
Eagles Landing Steakhouse in Friant follows closely with a $91.50 average, while Trelio Food & Wine in Clovis ranks third at $82.
The Business Journal list ranks Central San Joaquin Valley fine dining establishments by average price of entree. Data was provided by Business Journal Research, restaurant websites and representatives of the businesses listed.
1. Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Fresno — $94
The steakhouse specializes in USDA Prime steaks and has 296 indoor seats and 30 patio seats.
2. Eagles Landing Steakhouse, Friant — $91.50
Located at 777 Jackpot Lane, the restaurant lists hand-selected beef, specialty sauces and classic French recipes with a modern touch among its offerings.
3. Trelio Food & Wine, Clovis — $82
Trelio offers a daily changing seasonal four-course prix fixe menu using international cooking techniques.
4. Bulle, Fresno — $68.81
Bulle describes its menu as modern California cuisine with refined ingredients.
5. CheyAnne’s Steakhouse & Lounge, Kingsburg — $66.50
The restaurant features USDA Prime beef certified California-grown and aged for a minimum of 21 days.
6. Richard’s Prime Rib & Seafood, Fresno — $64.45
One of the longest-established restaurants on the list, Richard’s was founded locally in 1969.
7. 13 Prime Steak, Clovis — $60
Its specialties include prime steakhouse fare, American regional cuisine, homemade desserts, craft cocktails and a boutique wine list.
8. The Palms, Fresno — $51
The restaurant’s listed specialties include Chilean sea bass, rack of lamb, braised Colorado lamb shank and abalone medallions.
9. The Lime Lite, Fresno — $50
The longtime Fresno restaurant, founded in 1964, lists filet mignon, lobster, pork, chicken and seafood among its specialties.
9. The Manhattan Steakhouse and Bar, Fresno — $50
The Manhattan ties The Lime Lite with a $50 average, though its highest-priced entree reaches $150.
A new name at No. 1
The top of the ranking looks different from recent years.
The Elderberry House in Oakhurst held the No. 1 position in 2024 with an average price of $120 and again in 2025 at $150. It does not appear on the 2026 list.
That leaves Ruth’s Chris, which ranked second in both years, in the No. 1 position for 2026.
The 2026 list also introduces several establishments that weren’t ranked on the 2025 list, including Trelio Food & Wine, Bulle, The Palms and The Lime Lite.
