A Fresno nonprofit announced Friday a new CEO after more than two decades under its founder.
Sandra Flores will take on the leadership role at Reading and Beyond beginning Tuesday, according to a news release.
Flores will take the place of Luis Santana, who founded the nonprofit in Southeast Fresno in 1999 and has run the organization since.
Headquartered in the Mosqueda Community Center, Reading and Beyond helps children and adults achieve literacy as well as serving to help community members with social programs and seek assistance.
During the pandemic, it operated the Fresno Food CARES Program to help distribute food. It also was among the half dozen programs in the City of Fresno to help administer housing assistance during the pandemic.
Most recently, Flores served as interim CEO for Teen Success, Inc, helping transition the organization through a leadership change. Flores also works with the Central Valley Community Foundation as a senior program officer.
Flores has a bachelor of science degree from Oklahoma City University.
