Fresh off a record-setting year for merchandise sales, the Fresno Grizzlies are bringing their wares to one of Fresno’s busiest shopping centers.

This Friday the Grizzlies are unveiling a River Park “pop-up shop” to be located at 192 E. Via del Parque, across from Me-n-Ed’s Coney Island Grill.

A grand opening party is being planned Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. featuring complimentary refreshments and visits from mascots Parker T. Bear and Cilantro Gomez.

Boosted by a taco-centric marketing campaign, the franchise set a merchandise record with $700,000 in revenue this year.

“We’re always striving to keep the coolest brand in Fresno as Triple-A baseball team. Our merchandise is renowned and sold nationally, and is a symbol of regional pride,” said Sam Hansen, Grizzlies marketing director, in a statement.  “This limited time River Park pop-up shop will give North Fresno shoppers a chance to take advantage of having this product readily available for easy purchase. We will also offer limited quantity exclusive items that will only be available at the pop-up shop.”

Some of the special holiday apparel available at the team store and pop-up store in December includes a Fresno Tacos ugly Christmas sweater.

The team store at Chukchansi Park will also remain open during the usual noon to 4:30 p.m. hours Monday through Friday, with expanded Black Friday and weekend hours between Thanksgiving and Christmas planned.

The Grizzlies have also unveiled a special logo to commemorate its 20th anniversary in April 2017. The logo features sights and colors honoring the team’s history dating back to 1998.
