Amazon brought the holiday spirit to its employees and their children this week with a tour of their Fresno fulfillment center.

On Tuesday, Dec. 16, workers at the FAT 1 Amazon facility were invited to bring their children to work to see where their parents work, what they do for the company, and enjoy food, treats, Christmas gifts, and pictures with Santa Claus.

Children and parents were given a tour of the facility, and even got to perform some tasks, such as sorting items, boxing and labeling packages.

Fresno Mayor Jerry Dyer and Fresno City Councilmember Annalisa Perea, who also brought her son, were present at the event to highlight the company’s employment of thousands of Central Valley residents, and the economic impact they have brought to the region.

“You are the ones that make Christmas happen for a lot of people. They make sure that the packages that families order get delivered in a timely fashion,” Dyer said.

Perea told the children that while Santa Clause may be cool, their parents are cooler for all the hard work they do to provide for them and their families, and help make sure other people also get their Christmas gifts.

“They put the blood, sweat, and tears and all the hard work into making Santa’s job possible,” she told the children. “You’re going to get a front row seat to what your parent’s do every single day to help Santa.”
