Zurek has been on the job for 18 months, leading Tulare County’s largest business organization representing nearly 700 businesses and more than 40,000 jobs.
In a news release, Mathis praised Zurek’s community outreach and advocacy for the business community on issues including new development districts for microbreweries, ordinances aimed at growing the food truck industry and a sign ordinance update.
“It is our privilege to honor Gail Zurek for all of her hard work within the community. Gail has done nothing short of amazing work with the Visalia Chamber. Her dedication to helping small businesses grow is something that she should be proud of. Thank you to Gail and congratulations on being honored as this year’s District 26 Woman of the Year,” Mathis said in a statement.
Zurek will be honored during ceremonies at the State Capitol on March 14th.
