The State Center Community College District seeks volunteers to be representatives on the Measure C Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee.


Voters in Fresno, Madera, Tulare and Kings counties approved the $485 million bond measure last month. The bond will be used to pay for new buildings, update existing buildings and modernize technology in the district’s five campuses.

To qualify, volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and meet one of the following requirements under California law for certain people to be represented, including the following special interest categories:

— Student enrolled and active in a community college support group, such as student government.

— Business community located in the district.

— Senior citizens’ organization.

— Bona-fide taxpayers’ organization.

— Support organization for the district, such as the SCCC Foundation.

— Community at-large: resident of the community college district.
