The Central California Women’s Conference has announced Mia Hamm, two-time Olympic athlete and FIFA Women’s World cup champion, as this year’s keynote speaker.

Hamm will headline the 37th annual 2026 conference with the theme of “Beyond the Goal”.

The conference will take place on Sept. 15 at the Fresno Convention Center in Downtown Fresno.

Hamm played as forward for the U.S. national team from 1987 to 2004, has competed in four FIFA Women’s World Cups, and led the team at three Olympic games in 1996, 2000, and 2004.

She was named FIFA World Player of the Year in 2001 and 2002.

Hamm is widely regarded as one of the best soccer players of all time.

This year’s theme, “Beyond the Goal,” highlights the CCWC’s mission to empower women to think bigger, push further and build momentum toward a greater future, a news release stated.

CCWC President and Treasurer Teri L. Amerine said “Beyond the goal is a reminder that “our greatest impact often comes after the milestone.

“This is through the way we lead, support others and continue to push forward. I’m excited to connect with this incredible community of women,” Amerine said. “As we embrace this year’s theme, ‘Beyond the Goal,’ her story reminds us that success isn’t just about reaching milestones, it’s about who we become in the pursuit of them.”

The CCCW is the largest women’s event in the region and has raised more than $1.75 million to support local nonprofits serving women and children, with this year alone awarding $102,400 to 91 nonprofit organizations, according to the news release.

Conference sponsors include U.S. Bank, Community Health System, Kaiser Permanente Fresno.
