Central Valley existing home price activity saw positive gains in August, mirroring the statewide trend, according to the latest data from the California Association of Realtors.

The biggest annual increase was observed in Kings County, where the median price in August was $258,450 — up 13.5% compared to last year’s $227,750. Annual sales activity was also up by 5.4% in August.

Fresno’s median home price for August was $285,000, up 1.8% from a year ago. Fresno sales were also up 1.1% in that period.

Madera’s median home price was $279,000, up 9.5% from $254,900. Sales activity for August was up 12.6%

Tulare County’s median home price was $250,000 in August, up 4.6% from $239,000 last year. Despite the price increase, sales activity was down 22.7% in the period.

Statewide, August home sales were up 1.6% compared to last year. The median home price was $617,410, up 3.6% in the period.
