Forget going to the beach for fun in the sun this weekend. The best surfers from around the world are going to be in Lemoore for the World Surf League Freshwater Pro tour.

Beginning Thursday and ending Saturday, wave riders will compete at the Surf Ranch at 18556 Jackson Ave., followed by a concert by the Raconteurs, fronted by rocker Jack White.

Thursday’s event will be closed off to the public, but on Friday, gates open to VIP ticket holders at 7:30 a.m. There will be men’s and women’s heats throughout the day followed by a happy hour and live performance by Swedish pop group Smith and Thell. Saturday’s event will begin at 8:30 a.m.with with the final round beginning at 1:20 p.m. Awards will be at 6 p.m. followed by the Raconteurs concert at 6:45 p.m.

The park is also debuting the Grom Zone, a kids play area. Kids 10 and under get in free.

General admission tickets are only for Saturday and are $55. VIP passes are available for $299 and $499.
