Two KMJ Now radio programs earned national recognition this week, landing on Barrett Media’s annual rankings of the top mid-market news/talk radio shows.

KMJ was recognized as No. 19 among the Mid Market News/Talk Radio Morning Shows of 2025. The “Fresno’s Morning News” program is led by on-air personalities Christopher Gabriel, Greg Lane and Randy James.

Voters in this category selected their favorite shows out of 77 submitted ballots, evaluating the program on criteria including ear test, originality, multi-platform impact, rating success, national shows and industry buzz.

“What makes this daily morning show work so well is the consistent — and I would add passionate — desire to give our listeners everything they need to begin their days,” Gabriel said in a statement. “But, always to do it in a way that entertains and engages them on a variety of levels. We’re serious when we need to be, but we also weave in a lot of good-natured, family-friendly humor that is relatable and puts a smile on their faces as they head into work or wherever they’re going.”

Barrett Media’s executive voting panel for the BM Top 20 lists consists of 40 program directors and corporate execs from top radio broadcasting companies including iHeart, Cumulus, Premiere Networks and more.

That wasn’t the only national honor for KMJ, which also placed No. 18 on the list of Mid Market News/Talk Radio Midday Shows of 2025 with the Broeske & Musson Show, hosted by Christina Musson and John Broeske.

There were a total of 47 shows appearing on the ballot in this category.

Barrett Media launched in September 2015 and has provided consulting services to America’s top audio and video brands while covering the media industry at BarrettMedia.com

The BM Top 20 will be releasing more lists in the days to come including for top program directors and radio stations.
