Dr. Lori A. Bennett has been selected as president of Clovis Community College, with a projected start date in July.

The State Center Community College District is set to approve Bennett’s hire at its June 14 meeting, according to a news release.

Bennett is currently executive vice president of student learning at Moorpark College in Southern California — a position she has held since 2013. Prior to that, she was the dean of student learning, department chair, new faculty orientation facilitator, faculty professional development facilitator and business professor for the college of around 14,000 students.

“Dr. Bennett brings a wealth of community college experience and is a highly talented professional,” said Paul Parnell, State Center Community College District chancellor.  “She has devoted more than 20 years to working with faculty and staff in assisting community college students which gives her unique insight into the challenges facing our students. I look forward to working with her.”

Bennett also has about 10 years of business experience, as well as stints teaching at Tacoma Community College and Highline Community College in Washington.

Dr. Bennett earned a bachelor’s degree in business from University of Southern California, her MBA in marketing/finance from University of Chicago and her Ed.D. in educational leadership and policy studies from California State University, Northridge.
