More than 600 fourth grade Visalia students and their parents will have the chance to explore and consider college over the next month, thanks to Momentum Broadcasting and sponsors.

The program will see four groups travel to the University of San Francisco; two groups will travel to UC Davis; and two will go to UC Irvine, according to Bill Lynch, Momentum Broadcasting general manager. Trips to UC Riverside and the University of Southern California are also in the works, along with connections with Stanford.

“The itinerary for each campus is a little different, but they will get to meet university staff members, tour these amazing college campuses, experience lunch in a college dining commons and have the opportunity to envision themselves as future college students,” Lynch said

The Kids to College Project is made possible through the G for Kids Foundation, Visalia Unified School District, the Belay Foundation and the Rotary Club of Visalia. The upfront cost was about $90,000.

Momentum Broadcasting is a company in Visalia that runs local radio stations including 106.7 FM KJUG Country, 104.9 FM Hitz and 99.7FM KIOO classic rock.
