The California High-Speed Rail Authority will be hosting a public meeting in Madera April 20 to share information about the rail project.

Officials plan to share information and answer questions about the rail system, including the recent decision to extend the start of construction package 1 northward from Avenue 17 to Avenue 19. The first leg will run from Madera County to American Avenue in Fresno County.

Staff will be on hand to review details and answer questions related to design, right of way and traffic management, as well as small business and employment opportunities.

The meeting will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Madera County Library at 121 N. G St.
