Ultra Gro, a Madera-based fertilizer company, celebrated 40 years in business this month producing healthy soil, innovative products and continuing its legacy with new ownership and multiple initiatives to celebrate service and community.
Ultra Gro manufactures and distributes a full line of liquid fertility products directly to farmers.
Their products have been proven to provide high yields, to quality and cost-effective results in both permanent and annual crops throughout the West, according to a news release.
Ultra Gro’s customer base is composed of several hundred growers from Oregon and throughout California.
The company was founded in 1985 by Bud and Todd Myers, specializing in proprietary offerings that help growers get their money’s worth.
Their line of products has grown over the four decades in business, but there has been a constant focus on soil, microbiology and grower value.
Ultra Gro employs over a dozen crop nutrition consultants to serve its diverse grower base.
CEO Craig Fourchy initially bought into the company in 2009 and became majority owner in 2024, alongside Ultra Gro Crop Advisors Derek Sissom, Rich Kreps, and Dustin Stewart.
“From my first introduction to Ultra Gro, I knew the company was special,” said Fourchy. “Not only do we have the best people and the best products, but we also have the best customers. Our entire team is tremendously grateful for the strong relationships we have with our growers and are honored to be able to provide them with the highest quality products and agronomic advice available.”
At the end of May, Ultra Grow held a customer appreciation barbecue lunch at the company’s headquarters in Madera to celebrate the 40th anniversary.
Highlights of the event included a proclamation from the office of Assemblymember David Tangipa, as well as additional recognition from Fresno County Supervisor Nathan Magsig and an announcement of collaboration with the Madera County Food Bank.
In honor of their 40 years in business, the Ultra Gro team has taken up the challenge to complete 40 hours of community service this year—the regional crop advisor crews are teaming up for local cause serving together throughout the Central Valley.
“We are honored to serve our Madera community,” says Fourchy. “The Madera County Food Bank does awesome work and deserves support. It is the perfect way to celebrate this milestone for us.”
