A popular pharmacy in north Fresno is being sold to a major chain with a transition expected this week.

Run by Lynn and Allen Taylor, Bullard Pharmacy is being purchased this week by CVS. According to Allen Taylor, the takeover will happen on Wednesday. The Taylors hope to continue running their gift shop — which offers an assortment of personal care products, gifts and more — through the holidays. The store also includes a post office.

The Bullard Pharmacy Facebook page features a number of Christmas-related items for sale, including candles, ornaments, apparel and snow globes.

Bullard Pharmacy is locally owned and has been in business since 1972 when the Taylors started the business at the age of 24, according to their website.

Customers leaving reviews for the business on social media spoke of a special place where customer service was unparalleled.

“Two very special, caring and loving people own this pharmacy,” wrote Natalie Teague on Facebook. “They would help you out with anything, at anytime of the day, if you need something.”

“We love and take care of our customers like family,” according to the Bullard Pharmacy Facebook page.

Bullard Pharmacy isn’t the first family-run business in Fresno to sell its pharmacy business to a national chain. Walgreens acquired Wintons Vista Pharmacy and Wintons Professional Pharmacy in 2018 after 86 years in operation by the Winton Family.
