In what is perhaps the closest any lions will ever get to being in the Super Bowl, a lioness at the Fresno Chaffee Zoo has picked the Los Angeles Rams to win the big game on Sunday.

The Chaffee Zoo’s pride has a reputation for accurate Super Bowl predictions, predicting the last three games in a row. Last year, Kijani correctly picked the Philadelphia Eagles to win. Before that, the father of the pack Chisulo was proven right in overtime when the New England Patriots beat the Atlanta Falcons.

To make the prediction, the zookeepers have boxes with the logos of each team filled with meat. Whichever box is chosen is the team the lions pick. This year, it was the pride’s matriarch Kiki who made the decision. Signaling how tired America is of the Patriots, she ran straight for the Rams box as soon as she was released.

“I’m personally pretty excited, but it could be that’s just her favorite mascot–we don’t know,” said carnivore keeper Misha Brown. “But yeah, it looks like she’s going with the Rams this year.”

After the predictions were made, the rest of Kiki’s family was invited to share in her snack.
