The International Agri-Center has issued a request for proposals seeking developers to design, construct and operate a full-service 200 room hotel on its Tulare property, the organization announced Tuesday. The goal is to expand lodging capacities for attendees of International Agri-Center events, including the World Ag Expo.
The proposed hotel would provide on-site accommodations for the over 175,000 yearly visitors who attend events at the facility. The project hopes to support continued growth of the campus while improving guest experience for exhibitors, partners and travelers.
“We are excited to take this next step in growing our campus,” said Jerry Sinift, CEO of the International Agri-Center. “An on-site hotel will allow us to better serve our guests, exhibitors, and partners as a premier destination for events.”
While the World Ag Expo is the most popular International Agri-Center event, Sinift says there are visitors year round for other events.
“Throughout the year we do a lot of equestrian events and those kind of things, volleyball tournaments, soccer tournaments, hockey camps, those kind of things throughout the year, along with our business meetings and fundraisers,” Sinift said.
The International Agri-Center is looking for proposals from experienced hospitality developers with proven track records in hotel design, construction and operations. Submissions will be evaluated based on design quality, financial feasibility, developer experience and alignment with International Agri-Center goals.
The 5.3-acre site is located along Highway 99 with direct access via the planned six lane International Agri-Center Interchange. The property’s proximity to Tulare, Visalia and Fresno, as well as regional attractions including national parks, strengthens its appeal for both business and leisure travelers, according to the project overview and request for proposals.
