The Fresno Grizzlies were recently named among 16 teams participating in Minor League Baseball (MiLB) multi-year sponsorship deal with Sunrun to raise awareness about solar power.

The residential solar company is among the largest in the country and signed a deal to be the preferred residential solar power provider for MiLB.

To kick off the partnership, Sunrun named the top prospect from each of the 16 teams to their “Future is Bright” lineup, including Grizzlies’ first baseman A.J. Reed.

In 2015, Reed played 82 games for Single-A Advanced Lancaster and 53 games for Double-A Corpus Christi. He was named the Astros’ Minor League Player of the Year and the California League MVP and is currently ranked 11th on Baseball America’s Top 100 Prospects list.

“A.J. Reed is one of our organization’s top prospects, and we’re happy to see him receive recognition in Sunrun’s “The Future is Bright” lineup,” said Derek Franks, general manager of the Fresno Grizzles. “The new partnership with Sunrun gives us the opportunity to further develop the family atmosphere at Chukchansi Park by incorporating ‘Sunrun Sundays’ activities and promoting home solar power.”

Sunrun Sundays will allow young Grizzlies fans to escort players to their on-field positions and be hosted throughout the season.
