Interise, a nonprofit organization aimed at economic and small business growth in lower income communities, announced Tuesday that Carter & Co. Communications of Fresno has been selected as the recipient for the 2017 Streetwise Summit Impact Award. Sixteen employers from across the United States were named finalists for the awards program.

The announcement was made at a ceremony on Wednesday concluding the two-day StreetWise Summit in Alexandria, Va. The Impact Award recognizes an Interise alumni business owner who has demonstrated significant impact through the growth of their business and engagement in their community.
