A grassroots organization called FairTax Coalition USA is hosting a couple of events tomorrow in Fresno to discuss its tax reform proposals.

FairTax Coalition USA supporters support measures that would eliminate the IRS and all personal and business income, payroll, state and capital gains taxes in favor of a retail sales tax on services and new goods.

The free event takes place Tuesday at the Sunnyside High School theater at 1019 S. Peach St. The first presentation is at 6 p.m., with a second at 7:30 p.m. Seated is limited, and business owners are especially encouraged to attend.

With more than 73,000 pages, the tax code has become too burdensome to businesses and families, according to FairTax Coalition USA. The so-called Fair Tax would save individuals and business more than seven billion hours every year in compliance with the tax code, according to a new release.
