A Fresno County store employee allegedly stabbed his boss in the back after he found out he was being fired, according to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident occurred at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Yosemite Hemp Co., located at 17304 N. Friant Rd. in the community of Friant north of Fresno.

The 42-year-old owner of the hemp and CBD products shop was in the process of firing 27-year-old Jose Ramos when Ramos became upset and allegedly stabbed the owner in his back, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

The stabbing victim’s brother beat up the suspect, according to deputies who arrived and contacted the parties involved.

The victim’s brother will not face any charges as he acted in defense, according to the Sheriff’s office.

The victim was flown to the hospital and the suspect was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Both the suspect and victim were later listed in stable condition.

Ramos was arrested on charges of assault with a deadly weapon. An investigation is ongoing.

According to Fresno County Jail online records, Ramos’ bail was set at $20,000 and he remained in custody as of Friday afternoon
