Eagle Mountain Casino in Porterville announced it has given out $300,000 worth of holiday incentives to its workforce.

The incentive program started during Thanksgiving and lasted through Christmas, featuring gifts and prizes totaling more than $300,000 in value for team members. During Thanksgiving, the gifts included $25 gift cards to $350 Visa pre-paid cards, and all team members received $50 gift certificates to Porterville’s Town & Country grocery store and a free paid day off.

In December, the theme was “Nightmare before Christmas,” and team members were treated to weekly drawings, catering and door prizes, according to a news release. There was also a “Festive Sweater Contest” and a special slot tournament for team members. Prizes included more Visa cards, Walmart gift cards, a $1,000 Visa card, Apple Air Pods, tablets, laptops and 50-inch televisions.

Local gift cards were also given away to team members including Stafford’s Chocolates, Plano Jerky, Visalia Mall, Galaxy Theater in Tulare, Stoney Creek BBQ, Eagle’s Landing, The Human Bean and even a 45-minute airplane flight.

“Eagle Mountain Casino has over 620 team members right now, not employees, not staff but team members, and I am proud to be a part of that team. Sixty team members have been there for at least 20 years. That’s unheard of. And it’s because of how the Tule River Tribe treats us as people, not as numbers, not as staff, but as people”, said Matthew Mingrone, general manager at Eagle Mountain Casino.

The Porterville Chamber of Commerce awarded Eagle Mountain Casino the 2022 “Large Business of the Year” award earlier this year.

The new casino property is scheduled to open this year off Highway 65 next to the Porterville Fair Grounds. The new property will double in size, growing to more than 100,000 square feet, featuring new dining options, 1,750 slot machines, 20 table games, and a state-of-the-art event center.
