The Central California Blood Center and the Clovis Rodeo Association will partner for the 23rd time next week to host the annual Rodeo Blood Drive, seeking support from Valley residents to ease blood shortages and give back to those in need.
“We are incredibly grateful to the Clovis Rodeo Association for their support over the past 23 years,” says President and CEO of the Central California Blood Center Christopher Staub. “The community always turns out in a big way for this event, and we are excited for another year at the Rodeo while collecting much-needed local blood.”
Those interested in donating blood are advised to eat a good meal and hydrate two to three hours prior to donating. Donors will also need to present a photo ID.
All donors will receive a free Rodeo Blood Drive T-shirt, while supplies last.
“The Clovis Rodeo has always been about community, and this event allows us to come together to support a vital cause,” says Clancy Wardle, president of the Clovis Rodeo Association. “We encourage everyone to join us in donating blood and make a difference in the lives of those in need.”
The blood drive will precede the rodeo, beginning Monday, April 22 and Tuesday, April 23 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Clovis Rodeo Hall. Donors will be accepted on location, with no need to register prior to donating.
More information about the blood drive, as well as contact information for additional questions, can be found here.
The 110th annual Clovis Rodeo runs from April 24 through 28 and will feature cowboys and cowgirls as well as food, entertainment and live music including country singers Bryan Martin, Michael Ray and Matt Stell.
Tickets to the rodeo are on sale now and range from $20 to $35. There is no additional charge for concerts. Tickets are available at the Clovis Rodeo box office located at 748 Rodeo Dr., in Clovis. Tickets can also be purchased online.
