Clovis will have one less Jack in the Box restaurant by the end of September.

That’s because the franchise owner will not renew the lease for the property on Clovis Avenue north of Barstow Avenue, said Brian Lusk, a spokesman for Jack in the Box, Inc.

Two other restaurants in the fast-food chain operate in Clovis, and Lusk said normally Fresno and nearby areas are good locales for Jack in the Box restaurants, but the one on Clovis Avenue underperformed.

But Clovis may not be one Jack in the Box short for long, as the franchisee reportedly is looking to launch one or two restaurants in other locations in the area, he added.
