The State Center Community College District (SCCCD) Board of Trustees announced Wednesday the unanimous appointment of Dr. Kim E. Armstrong as the president of Clovis Community College.

Armstrong will assume the position previously held by Dr. Lori Bennett, who has presided over the college since 2016. Her retirement was announced earlier this year.

“The Board of Trustees are grateful to the search committee whose commitment to the District’s values of academic excellence, diversity, equity and inclusion was evident throughout the process,” said Board President Nasreen Johnson.

Armstrong is currently the vice chancellor for student, equity and community affairs at Arkansas State University Three Rivers — a position she has held since 2021.

Armstrong attended Howard University where she earned her B.S., M.S., and Ph.Ds in physiological/neuropsychology and also holds strategic leadership and management specialization certifications.

Armstrong was one of only 50 nationally certified Student Success/Guided Pathways coaches, and one of eight selected as an Arkansas Holistic Student Support Coach.

She currently serves on the Arkansas Community Colleges Diversity, Equity, Inclusion Taskforce where she has received several state and regional recognitions.
