Fresno has a new opportunity for vendors to showcase their vintage and unique clothing and other items.

On March 18, The Vintage Faire at Park Place in north Fresno held its third monthly vendors faire from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The booths were manned by vendors selling vintage clothing items including shoes and jackets, toys, vinyl records and miscellaneous items from past decades.

There were also booths for artists and craftspeople to sell their own creations.

The first event was held near the end of January. The Vintage Fair at Park Place will take place on the last Saturday of every month.

It takes place at the Park Place shopping center at Palm and Nees avenues.

Armando Aragon, an avid collector of relics from the past, co-founded Vintage Faire at Park Place with his wife, Amy. He is also the chief operating officer and owner of A1 Transport & Freight, Inc., in Fresno.

Aragon said many of his vendors are from Downtown Fresno and the Tower District.

“My vision for the whole thing is to try and bring that culture of the vintage community and vintage reselling to the north Fresno area,” Aragon said.

Each month’s Vintage Faire will have a theme, with the last one being Saint Patrick’s Day. The upcoming April 29th event will have an ’80s theme. There will be separate contests for vendors and guests with the best ’80s outfit, with prizes including gift cards for Black Market Vintage store, a local restaurant in Park Place and a full tank of gas.

David Pimental, an artists and vendor at the Vintage Faire, recently moved to Mojave from Massachusetts and heard about the Fresno event through social media.

These types of events are growing in popularity all across the U.S. he said.

With the increasing popularity of vintage clothing and vinyl records, and with more people wanting unique items to show off on their social media, popularity will grow, Aragon said.

“It was a great event. It was really good turnout and we expect it will continue to grow and help the business community,” Aragon said.
