Best friends Natalie Terrasas and Bianca Mattos took their shared love for fashion to a new level with the opening last year of Posh Panache Boutique at the Pavilion West shopping center in Fresno.
The duo, who first met as students at Bullard High School, reconnected after years apart and decided to follow their passion by opening a storefront together.
“We’re two best friends from high school,” Terrasas said. “Last year, it was like God pressed on our hearts…it all fell into place.”
Mattos had retail ownership experience through her online business, Simply Glamorous Boutique, before joining forces with Terrasas last year. With Posh Panache, Mattos app from online operations to a brick-and-mortar store.
“We love fashion and we were just ready to do something different,” Terrasas said of their venture.
Both have children around the same ages, and as their lives became less focused on traveling for sports and activities, they found the time to pursue their long-time passion project and, for Mattos, rekindled the joy in an industry that felt lost in the shuffle of daily life.
“I said I’d never open another boutique again, and then here we are,” Mattos remarked.
Originally, the duo had planned to buy a nearby boutique from a retiring owner. After that opportunity fell through, the pair discovered a vacant space near Bullard High School and seized the opportunity.
The boutique sits in a prime location at Pavillion West, formerly home to ThriveFit Wellness.
“We want every woman to feel that we see you, let us help you, and we want them to feel beautiful from the inside out,” Mattos explained. The duo said that their customer-centered philosophy is at the heart of Posh Panache.
Their approach is unique in that it’s not just about selling clothes — it’s about fostering connections.
Terrasas and Mattos prioritize building relationships with their customers, whether through in-store conversations or daily live streams on social media. They aim to create a welcoming, comfortable space where clients can spend time without feeling pressured to buy anything.
“We have clients who come in here and don’t buy anything, but they’re in here for like two hours just to talk,” Terrasas said.
The boutique’s strong social media presence has been a driving force in their success. The duo engages with their audience through a women-only Facebook group and recently launched a mobile app for easier shopping access.
The pair’s long-term goal is to one day expand Posh Panache beyond its current physical and online locations, eventually distributing from a warehouse to a larger customer base.
