Bank of America announced its total philanthropic contributions to Fresno/Visalia nonprofit organizations in 2022, continuing its dedication to serving the public through charitable donations to multiple organizations in and around the Central Valley.

In 2022, the bank donated $1.85 million to Valley nonprofit organizations, focusing on removing barriers to economic mobility and social progress.

The company’s support includes $500,000 contributed toward the Heartbeat Hub at the new City Center complex started by the Fresno Mission. City Center is a new facility aiming to help families and individuals in crisis.

City Center hopes to host a soft opening this month.

In addition to the donation to Fresno Mission’s project, the bank also contributed $301,000 in grants to 15 different nonprofits including the Central California Food Bank, Community Services and Employment Training in Tulare County, Madera Rescue Mission and the Marjaree Mason Center, among others.

Bank of America also donated $100,000 to support Fresno DRIVE’s F3 ag-tech initiative, as well as $50,000 to Poverello House to assist in a holiday fundraiser that aimed to provide food, shelter and hope to the city’s homeless population.

“Nonprofits are on the front lines of addressing complex societal challenges — understanding the needs and obstacles the Central Valley faces,” said Bank of America Fresno/Visalia President Mark Riley in a press release on Tuesday. “Bank of America is partnered with those nonprofits to support the development of solutions and services that promote economic advancement.”

The company also contributed over 10,000 volunteer hours this year, including a holiday toy gift-wrapping event supporting the Live Again Fresno nonprofit.

In addition, bank employees presented 16 financial literacy workshops geared towards bringing financial awareness and teaching money habits to the homeless population at Poverello House.

They also served the Boys and Girls Clubs of Fresno, Merced, Exeter and Tulare in backpack and school supply donations, as well as continuing their help with Valley Girl Scout Troops, surprising one lucky troop by buying their entire stock of cookies.

“Bank of America will continue to deploy capital and resources to help remove barriers to economic success and build a more sustainable community,” Riley added in the release.
