Local accounting firm Morse Wittwer Sampson, LLP is matching every monetary gift given to Fresno State’s Student Cupboard this month.

Led by Fresno State alumni Chris Morse and Ken Wittwer, the firm has agreed to award up to $50,000 during the March Match-Up drive, which ends March 31.

Founded in 2014, the on-campus food pantry provides perishable and non-perishable food items and hygiene products five days a week to Fresno State students.

“We have had students tell us that the Student Cupboard has made the difference between them staying in college or leaving,” said University First Lady Mary Castro, a champion of the Student Cupboard and leader of the March Match-Up Drive.

She said the cupboard has helped serve more than 4,300 students since opening.

“The Student Cupboard addresses a real need on-campus and helps the entire student body, so we felt it was an area we wanted to support,” Morse said. “Through this matching campaign, there is an opportunity to make a big difference in the lives of Fresno State students.”

More information on the Student Cupboard and campaign donation process is available at www.FresnoState.edu/MarchMatchUp.
