Jessica Peres Baird, formerly a television reporter and anchor with ABC30 Action News since 2006, has taken a job as the new public information officer for the Fresno Unified School District.

 

Baird joined the district earlier this month, replacing Jed Chernabaeff, who took a position as public information officer for Ventura County in Southern California.

Baird will be responsible for handling media inquiries to the district and supporting school sites during emergencies or crisis.

A native of Princeton, New Jersey, Peres started her television career interning for MTV Networks at Nickelodeon. She also served as production assistant at WCAU-TV in Philadelphia and reporter for WZBN-TV in New Jersey before taking a job with KFSN in Fresno. She served as the station’s education reporter starting in 2014.
