Well driller Zim Industries has found a new home at Golden State Boulevard and Jefferson Avenue, just a short distance from its old home at Lincoln Avenue and Highway 99.

The well-drilling company left its old 3-acre lot for a bigger 9-acre expanse at 4532 E. Jefferson Ave in Fresno.

“We were pretty cramped and walking all over ourselves in our old facility,” said Curt Zimmerer, president of Zim Industries. “We can support a larger volume of work and a larger customer base.”

The new location not only means more office space, but a drastic bump in space for its shop and warehouse. A new 35,000 square foot building will house mechanics, a machine shop and welding operations.

“It allows us to support the infrastructure for the volume of work on the pump side, drilling side and rehab side,” Zimmerer said.

The company, which has 12 drilling rigs across California, Nevada, Arizona and Utah, has drilled water wells since 1979 and employs over 150 people.
