With Super Bowl LI this Sunday, personal-finance website WalletHub has released a report on 2017’s best and worst cities for football fans.


According to the website’s metrics, Fresno misses the snap.

The report ranks Fresno below average overall at No. 193 out of 244 cities in the United States. Among large cities, Fresno was ranked close to the bottom at No. 44 out of 46.

In terms of college football fan engagement, Fresno ranked 148th. For college football stadium capacity, it was ranked 200th and was ranked 212th in terms of performance level of college football team, the Fresno State Bulldogs. Fresno did rank above average for minimum season ticket price for a college football game at No. 82.

The best city for football fans, according to the study, was Green Bay, Wisconsin, followed by Pittsburgh, New York, Dallas and Boston.

To identify the best cities for football fans, WalletHub analyzed 244 cities with at least one college or professional football team based on 17 key metrics, ranging from the number of NFL and college football teams to average ticket prices.
