Visalia Medical Clinic is now providing family medicine at their Tulare center. Family practitioner Dr. Roy Kin-Wai Chan began seeing patients earlier this month at their 938 N. Cherry St. office.

Chan has been with the Tulare VA Community-Based Outreach Center since 2012, providing primary care and women’s health care for veterans. Previously, he provided care at Mountain View Medical Clinic in Dinuba.

“I have been in the area for almost seven years, and I really wanted to stay here,” Chan said. “The VA is going through a lot of changes, and this opportunity allows me to maintain access to my patients here.”

Chan served his family medicine residency at The Ohio State University Medical Center and received his MD at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. He also attended Yale for his undergraduate studies, where he got a degree in molecular, cellular and developmental biology with an emphasis on neurobiology.

Chan is also a cancer survivor, having battled non-Hodgkins lymphoma while in medical school.

Visalia Medical Clinic is an affiliate of the Kaweah Delta Medical Foundation.
