After a quarter of a century of service as the CEO of Visalia Medical Clinic (VMC), Richard Strid has announced he is retiring.

Strid has overseen significant growth in the clinic, which now offers more than 60 providers, along with on-site imaging, lab work, physical therapy and a sleep lab. The clinic was named Large Business of the Year by the Visalia Chamber of Commerce in 2014.

As a member of the local community, Strid has served as a board member with the Visalia Chamber of Commerce, Wish Upon a Star and Grace Community Church. He’s also involved in the Rotary Club of Visalia and is a graduate of Leadership Visalia.

“VMC has been privileged to have Rick at the helm for the past 25 years, guiding the organization through huge changes in health care,” said Ralph Kingsford, VMC president. “He has certainly earned his retirement and the board, physicians and staff are grateful for his leadership. He will be missed.”

Along with his wife, Kim, Strid plans to remain in the community, and will be starting a new career in teaching, taking up a position at the Health Care Administration department of Fresno Pacific University.

Visalia Medical Clinic is an affiliate of Kaweah Delta Medical Foundation.
