A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Monday morning at the former office of Dority Insurance & Financial Services, Inc. in Clovis.

The office will become the newest satellite office for Fresno-based DiBuduo & DeFendis Insurance, LLC, following the merger of the two businesses.

Dority, who has been in the insurance industry 31 years, stated in a press release that he’s looking forward to combining his firm’s strengths with those of his new partners.

“We at Dority Insurance & Financial Services, Inc. are excited to apply our skills and knowledge in group health and workers’ compensation to D&D’s structured levels in loss control, marketing and claims, all of which I’ve wanted to build into my agency for some time,” he stated in a press release.

D&D co-owner Matt DeFendis added in the release that “Scott brings a vast amount of experience and expertise to our new Clovis office. His knowledge of the insurance industry is exceptional and a perfect fit for our company and growth plans.”

Founded in 1960, his brokerage is one of the largest independent insurance agencies in California, with offices in Bakersfield, Dinuba, Fresno, Hollister, Lodi, Modesto, Oxnard, San Luis Obispo, Santa Monica, Taft and now one in Clovis, at 541 Bullard Ave.
