The Valley Dream Center, a local nonprofit serving marginalized communities in east-central Fresno, is hosting a grand opening May 20 for its new campus at 4881 E. University Ave. in Fresno


The evening runs from 5:30-8 p.m. and will include a 6 p.m. ribbon cutting, hors d’oeuvres, refreshments, guest speakers, booths, networking opportunities and open tours of the 4-acre campus.

Special guest scheduled to attend include Assemblyman Jim Patterson, Fresno City Councilmembers Paul Caprioglio and Lee Brand, Valley Christian Center Senior Pastor Bill Chaney as well as the Seattle Seahawks’ Anthony McCoy and Former San Francisco 49er Tim Collier.

The pair of football players are the founders of G.O.A.L., or Growing Our Athletic Leaders, which will have an office on the campus and provide sporting equipment to children in poverty.
