Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera has been named a Best Children’s Hospital and Best Children’s Hospital for Emergency Care by the Women’s Choice Award, a trusted source to find the best medical brands, services, and hospitals, recommended by women.

Todd Suntrapak, Valley Children’s Healthcare president and CEO,  says that the award is a sign that the organization’s hard work is paying off.

“The Women’s Choice Awards reflect our ongoing commitment to delivering the best healthcare for kids throughout Central California,” said Suntrapak. “I thank our team of doctors, nurses and staff for always putting the health and safety of our kids first and for working tirelessly to provide families with the highest level of care each and every day.”

The selection of the Best Children’s Hospitals is based on a point system and self-reported data from almost 100 children’s hospitals. The hospitals are judged according to the availability of services such as family-centered care, dedicated pediatric emergency department, child life specialists, and pediatric trauma center accreditation.

“This award is so special to us because we not only had to meet strict levels of healthcare criteria, we also had to earn it from our community,” says Dr. David Christensen, Valley Children’s senior vice president, medical affairs, and chief physician executive. “Only hospitals that achieve high levels of patient satisfaction are eligible to even earn the award. We now join an elite network of healthcare facilities across the country committed to empowering women to make smart healthcare choices. We are so proud of that accomplishment and will continue working toward keeping the trust of the families we serve.”
