For the fourth year in a row Fresno bike shop Sunnyside Bicycles has been named one of America’s best bike shops for 2016 by the National Bicycle Dealers Association.

The distinction is awarded to less than 3 percent of the nearly 4,000 bike shops operating nationwide.

The award recognizes stores that demonstrate a high level of customer service as well as bicycle advocacy at the local and national level.

Sunnyside Bicycles is also known for its philanthropy. As part of the Sunnyside Gives Back program, thousands of dollars are donated to local charities each year, with Cultiva La Salud the most recent recipient of the program’s donation. Also, hundreds of bikes have been donated over the years as part of the company’s Kids Trade-Up program as well as its coordination with the City of Reedley’s Recycle a Bicycle program. Sunnyside Bicycles has also raised $5000 for local cycling advocacy groups as part of the People for Bikes Retail Round-up program it developed in 2013.

“We could not be more proud to win this award again this year,” said owner Vanessa McCracken. “We are never complacent and are constantly pushing ourselves to do better for our customers, employees and community. We are extremely grateful to have our hard work and passion recognized.”

Sunnyside Bicycles has two locations to serve the Central Valley — one in the Sunnyside Marketplace at Kings Canyon and Fowler and the other in downtown Reedley
