For those who like curry on pizza or chicken wings, your options have been made easier.

The Curry Pizza Company is expanding to 2930 E. Nees Ave. from their location in northwest Fresno.

The business is also in the works of starting a food truck featuring the signature chicken wings. They expect to be open by late January 2019, according to owner Varinder Malhi. The food truck will come a couple of months later.

They had been getting calls from customers all over the area wanting deliveries for pizzas like tandoori paneer or curry masala. Making those deliveries could often take as long as 30 minutes just for the drive, said Malhi.

The new restaurant will allow Malhi, who co-owns Curry Pizza with his family, to penetrate nearly the entirety of the Fresno-Clovis area.

“They love our pizza, but nobody would drive 30 minutes just to eat a pizza,” Malhi said. “You can do that once a month–people do it–but it’s hard to do it all the time.”

The 1,900 square foot location will also offer more seating, TVs with sports on and 12-14 beers on draft.

The Curry Pizza Company opened two years ago when Malhi got together with his wife, sister, brother-in-law and cousin. He had always wanted to do a restaurant, but he felt there was already plenty of Indian food in the area. But when he had seen the rise of Korean tacos and other fusion food, he had the idea to put curry on pizza.
