To no surprise to anyone who has driven on the freeway during Fresno’s rush hour, a new study shows that the city has some of the worst drivers in America.

According to a new study from QuoteWizard.com, Fresno ranks 24th out of 75 big cities for having the worst drivers in the nation.

Ranking at No. 1 is Omaha, Neb., followed by Riverside and Sacramento.

To rank the cities with the worst drivers, QuoteWizard used data collected in 2017 to quantify overall driver quality and calculated incidents for each city based on accidents, speeding tickets, DUIs and citations like running a red light or using a cellphone while driving.

Fresno’s high DUI rates also help give the city a low rating, according to another  2017 study from QuoteWizard that placed Fresno as the fifth worst city for drunk driving.

However, Fresno drivers have slightly improved their driving according to QuoteWizards’ 2017 study ranking the cities with the worst drivers, moving down from 15th place in 2017 to 24th place this year.

The city with the best drivers is Orlando, followed by another Florida city, Miami.
