Written by Fresno Regional Workforce Development Board
The Business Services Center is inviting local employers to an upcoming event focused on practical ways to strengthen their teams and support business growth across the Central Valley. The event, “Workforce Solutions for Employers,” will take place on Thursday, April 16, 2026, from 9 – 11 a.m. at the Palomino Event Center in Fresno.
The session is designed for business owners, managers and HR professionals who are looking for straightforward, effective ways to navigate today’s workforce challenges. As hiring and retention continue to be top concerns for many organizations, the event will highlight available resources that can help employers build and maintain a reliable workforce while managing costs.
A key part of the event will focus on training opportunities available through Workforce Connection and its partners. Employers will learn about On-the-Job Training (OJT), which allows businesses to train new employees while they work, helping them gain the specific skills needed for the role. This approach can make the onboarding process more efficient and better aligned with each company’s needs.
The event will also cover Incumbent Worker Training (IWT), a program designed to support current employees by helping them build new skills or advance in their roles. For many businesses, investing in existing staff is one of the most effective ways to improve retention and keep up with changing industry demands. IWT provides a way to do that while maintaining productivity.
Another topic that will be discussed is Rapid Response services. These services are available to support businesses during periods of transition, such as layoffs or organizational changes. The goal is to help employers navigate these situations as smoothly as possible while also connecting affected workers with resources and new opportunities.
In addition to the presentations, the event offers a chance for employers to connect directly with workforce professionals and ask questions about the programs available to them. These conversations can help businesses better understand how to apply these resources in a way that fits their specific needs.
Workforce Connection continues to play an important role in supporting both employers and job seekers throughout the region. By bringing together resources, partnerships, and local expertise, the organization helps businesses stay competitive while contributing to a stronger regional economy.
The event is free to attend, and breakfast will be provided. Seating is limited, so early registration is encouraged.
For employers looking for practical tools and local support, Workforce Solutions for Employers offers a valuable opportunity to learn more about what’s available and how to put those resources to work.
