The Save Mart Companies is bringing shoppers holiday cheer by continuing their support for community food banks and pantries with its Friends Feeding Friends holiday food drive.

Now underway at all Save Mart, Lucky and FoodMaxx stores, the company says each donation helps support local individuals struggling with food insecurity.

Donations can be made by customers by purchasing bags of food with grocery essentials for $15 or $25 at the register. The amount selected is added to the shoppers total grocery bill, with a tax-deductible contribution marked on customer receipts.

“Our community food banks and local food pantries play an invaluable role in alleviating food insecurity in the neighborhoods we serve,” said The Save Mart Companies President Jim Perkins. “This holiday season, our shoppers have the opportunity to positively support our neighbors in need by making a contribution at checkout.”

The Save Mart Companies participates in many community support promotions, featuring Adopt a School programs, youth sports sponsorships, food bank partnerships, fundraising and more.

The Save Mart Companies also recently announced its holiday schedule, with locations’ hours differing by store.

On Christmas Eve — Dec. 24 — all Save Mart, Lucky/Lucky California and FoodMaxx locations will close at 7 p.m.

New Year’s Eve — Dec, 31 — will see all The Save Mart Companies’ stores close at 10 p.m.

Additionally, on New Year’s Day, all Save Mart Companies’ stores will open at 7 a.m. and close at 10 p.m.

The Save Mart Companies will see select stores open on Christmas Day — Dec. 25 — from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Below is a list of stores in the area that will remain open on Christmas Day:
