The California Teaching Fellows Foundation (CTFF) will host its fourth annual Road to Teaching Conference on Oct. 24, bringing together aspiring educators and regional educational leaders at Fresno Pacific University.

The conference will run from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Warkentine Cultural & Arts Center.

The event aims to connect high school and college students with education professionals while providing guidance on careers in K-12 education.

Breakout sessions will cover teaching credential pathways, scholarship opportunities and career guidance on careers in K-12 education.

“Our goal is for every student to leave empowered, energized, and fully confident in taking their next step toward becoming a K-12 educator,” said Terence Wan, CTFF education pathway manager.

Robert Nelson, former superintendent of Fresno Unified School District and an assistant professor at Fresno State’s Kremen School of Education and Human Development, will deliver the keynote address.

Participating institutions include Fresno State, Lemoore College, Fresno City College, Fresno Pacific University, Fresno Unified and National University.

High school students from Clovis, Firebaugh, Fresno and Mendota will attend.

The conference is supported by the Fresno-Madera K-16 Collaborative.

CTFF provides expanded learning programs across six Central Valley counties, serving 50,000 students at more than 500 school sites.
