A River Park storefront was burglarized Monday morning by two carloads of thieves, and now the owner is seeking support from the community to pick up the pieces.
Roman Gonzales and his son Isaac opened DripOnDrip a year ago in the storefronts at the River Park parking garage. Since 2019 they’ve been reselling streetwear and shoes, including many expensive and high-end items.
At about 4:15 a.m. Monday morning, eight people broke through the front windows of the shop, making away with inventory and causing extensive damage.
In an Instagram video, Gonzales said DripOnDrip has minimal insurance coverage. Not all the losses will be covered.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the business recover.
“Today, I am asking for your help to piece our dream back together,” according to the GoFundMe page. “Every contribution, no matter the size, will go directly towards rebuilding DripOnDrip, restoring what was lost, and ensuring that our dream can continue to thrive. Your support isn’t just for me; it’s a vote of confidence in the resilience of local businesses.”
The store could also be open for business Monday and through the rest of the week.
