The City of Fresno will “pass go” ($200 pending) into the world of Monopoly, immortalized in the world of real estate tycoons and financial moguls with its board game edition.

This is the first official Hasbro version of the game to feature Fresno landmarks, restaurants, and cultural staples. Fresno’s locations will replace properties like Park Place and Marvin Gardens with places beloved by the local community.

Now through May 10, 2024, residents can email Fresno@TopTrumps.com to suggest which locations they would like featured on the official MONOPOLY—Fresno game. The physical board game will be available in November.

Residents are encouraged to get involved by suggesting their favorite places representing Fresno. Whether it’s a hidden it, a bustling market, a beloved park, or a historic site, every submission is a chance to contribute to this unique version of the MONOPOLY game.

Submissions will help determine the details, including Fresno-specific squares, community chest, chance cards, and more.

Mr. Monopoly will visit Fresno’s City Hall for a press event on April 11 at 11:00 a.m. at 2600 Fresno St., Fresno, CA 93721. Fresno Mayor Jerry Dyer will explain how the community can weigh in on what’s included in the game.

A photo opportunity will conclude the event, capturing Mayor Dyer and Mr. Monopoly surrounded by Fresno’s mascots induct Mr. Monopoly into Fresno’s cast characters.

“We are excited to welcome Mr. Monopoly and celebrate the announcement of Fresno’s very own MONOPOLY board,” said Mayor Dyer in a news release. “This initiative is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the vibrant culture and significant landmarks of our city. It’s also another opportunity for us to come together, as One Fresno, and share what makes our community special.”
