Pomegranates are back this November as the Madera Chamber of Commerce hosts the 11th Madera Pomegranate, Fruit and Nut Festival on Saturday, Nov. 5.

The event, featuring pomegranate products, local vendors, music and chef-led cooking demonstrations, will be held at the Madera District Fairgrounds from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and is free to attend.

“We’re celebrating what Madera does best: agriculture, fun times, and delicious food,” said Debi Bray, president and CEO of the Madera Chamber of Commerce. “November is National Pomegranate Month, and we’re ready to celebrate.”

The festival has run every year since 2011, with the exception of 2020 when it was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The event will also feature a classic car show, a kids’ zone with inflatable fun, games and pony rides, a streetwear expo, Ohana Comic Con complete with a costume contest, and will also feature live music by Jaded from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Former Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Bernard Berrian will also make an appearance.

More than 90 arts, crafts and food vendors will be in attendance.

“This event is a little slice of Americana, and recognizes the harvest season in the best way – with good friends, good music and awesome food grown right here in Madera County,” said festival chairperson Nicki Rincon.

Additional information about the festival can be found at www.pomegranatefestival.com, on Facebook or by calling the Madera Chamber of Commerce at (559) 673-3563.
