REAL ESTATE

Schuil & Associates, a family-owned diversified real estate firm in Visalia, recently broadened its ownership base to include six real estate agents as part of a transition to the next generation. The 36-year-old firm was established by three brothers, Rick Schuil, Michael Schuil and Marc Schuil and specializes in farmland sales, dairy and ranch relocation, packing and cold storage facilities in 12 states. The decision to offer ownership to staff members came about as the leadership team considered what the future looks like for the firm and how to involve and grow the next generation, explained Michael Schuil.

MANUFACTURING

For the first time in over 90 years, luxury mattress brand McRoskey Mattress will introduce a new innerspring.  The collection features a new, sleek, upscale design without its iconic blue and white striped ticking the brand is known for. The change comes on the heels of the brand’s 120th Anniversary milestone and its recent acquisition by Fresno’s Pleasant Mattress. The iconic blue and white cotton ticking stripe that McRoskey beds have sported for decades has been replaced with a creamy, off-white woven stretch fabric panel, creamy cotton border, and a pocketed coil system in the mattress and box spring, a McRoskey first. The new Collection features two comforts, a gentle and a firm. The SoMa Collection, inspired by the company’s South of Market Street retail location, features a bounty of luxurious natural materials, including horsehair, alpaca, cashmere, organic wool, and All Natural Talalay latex.
